Pengaruh Keterbukaan Perdagangan terhadap Factor Share Sektor Manufaktur Indonesia

Tamaria, Sarah Christine - ; Kiki Verico, S.E., IMRI., Ph.D. (Pembimbing/Promotor) - ;

This study analyzes the impact of trade openness on factor share in Indonesia?s manufacturing sector. In 2011-2015, factor share in Indonesia?s manufacturing sector experienced a downward trend, coinciding with a declining in trade openness which is measured by two proxies, namely the tariff level and ratio of firm?s export and import to GDP. Using firm-level data from Industrial Survey in 2011-2015, it was found that trade openness had a significant positive impact on factor share. Based on the development of neoclassical theory, positive or negative association between trade openness and factor share is based on the relationship between capital and labor, whether they are substitutes or complements. Theoretically, a positive association between trade openness and factor share occurs when capital and labor have a complementary relationship. However, this study found that capital and labor are substitutes based on relationship between the capital-labor ratio and labor share estimation.Ada Tabel
