Analisis Hubungan Dampak Bantuan Siswa Miskin dan Potensi Gejala Depresi Orang Tua
Currently, depression is one of the main contributors to mental health problems in the world. Mental health disorders and poverty are like a vicious circle because poor mental health causes loss of productivity and poverty can cause mental health to deteriorate. Therefore, cash transfers can be a policy that targets poor households' economic conditions, which will impact mental health. This study tries to look at the impact of conditional cash transfers in education, the Poor Student Assistance (BSM) program, on parents' mental health as seen from the potential for symptoms of depression. Using data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) 5 and the Propensity Score Matching method, the results show that the BSM program significantly reduces parents' potential for depression symptoms, especially household heads whose children receive BSM. Thus, this study shows that an intervention program for basic human capital needs for children can increase the mental health of parents.Ada Tabel
