Mitigasi Overcrowding Menggunakan Metode Six Sigma dan Discrete Event Simulation di Unit Gawat Darurat Rumah Sakit XYZ Pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19
The increase in the number of patients who come and require hospital emergency care during the COVID-19 pandemic has caused congestion in the patient handling flow process, which indicates the occurrence of overcrowding. This study uses the Six Sigma method to examine the problem of overcrowding as well as to simulate and make improvements to the process flow for handling ER patients using discrete event simulation to mitigate the occurrence of overcrowding. The case study was conducted in the ER of XYZ Hospital using the DMAIC approach. After conducting the define and measure stages, it is known that the ER condition of XYZ Hospital is experiencing overcrowding based on the value of the NEDOCS formula. The next analyze stage is carried out to find which process can be used as a reference for making improvement models to mitigate overcrowding using the Arena software. Recommendations made by researcher in the improve stage are the addition of triage staff and doctor staff to reduce waiting times and queues for patients to get medical treatment and mitigate overcrowding. The implementation of the recommendations is expected to reduce the NEDOCS value of the XYZ Hospital emergency room management flow, which indicates a decrease in the overcrowding state.Ada Tabel
