Kemiskinan Energi dan Inklusi Keuangan: Studi Kasus Indonesia
A high electrification ratio does not mean that there is no energy poverty. In Indonesia, the electrification ratio shows a high number of 99,2% in 2020, but there are still many households that use traditional energy such as firewood to meet household energy needs. Various socio-economic factors can affect energy poverty, one of which is access to financial services. Energy poverty has the potential to be reduced by the effects of financial inclusion. This study uses the binary logit method to see whether there is a relationship between financial inclusion and energy poverty. There are various approaches to measuring energy poverty, three of which are the Ten Percent Rule, Twice the Median, and Low Income-High Cost concepts. Using the March 2019 Susenas data at the household level, this study founds that financial inclusion has a significant negative relationship with the energy poor status of a household. Financial inclusion variables are represented by the ownership of a saving account, ownership of credit, and access to shopping through the internet. Other factors such as the gender of the household and the number or household members representing household charateristics as well as the ownership status of the house/building and internet access representing the characteristics of the house/buildings also have a significant influence on the energy poor status of a household.Ada Tabel
