Simulasi Tingkat Pajak Karbon Optimal untuk Mendorong Adopsi Teknologi CCS pada PLTU
The use of coal-fired power plants produces high emissions. One of the technologies that can reduce these emission levels is Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) which can capture GHG emissions produced by PLTU by capturing the emissions produced for later storage in the ground. However, the use of CCS in Indonesia is hampered by the large cost required to install CCS so that a policy is needed that can reduce the relative price of PLTU with CCS to be able to implement it. One form of disincentive is a carbon tax. This study uses the LCOE and CO₂ switching price methods to find the optimal carbon tax price to encourage the adoption of CCS technology in steam power plants. This study uses two samples of PLTU located in West Java and South Sumatra respectively with various CCS implementation scenarios. The results of this study indicate that the optimal carbon tax price for PLTU in West Java ranges from 11-79 US$ per ton CO₂ for PLTU West Java and 13-101 US$ per ton CO₂ for PLTU in South Sumatra. Based on the comparison of carbon prices in other regions, the implementation of CCS in Indonesia will only have relatively the same price if the implementation of CCS is delayed for 10-15 years.Ada Tabel
