Ketergantungan Kendaraan Pribadi, Aksesibilitas, dan Struktur Spasial Perkotaan di Sarbagita dan Bali
The development of Denpasar encourages the emergence of the Sarbagita agglomeration city, which is driven by the development of the tourism sector, increasing population growth, and increasing economic activity, resulting in dynamic changes in the urban spatial structure. This study looks at the effect of transportation infrastructure and dependence on private vehicles on changes in urban spatial structure in Sarbagita and Bali, by using population and urban infrastructure data at the village/kelurahan level in 2010 and 2019. This research contributes to enriching empirical studies on the role of transportation in the change of urban spatial structure, especially in cities that are formed or agglomerated and rely on the tourism sector such as Sarbagita. This research also contributes on the use of historical data indicators in the form of access distances to historical villages and ancient road networks as instrument variables. Using the Instrumental Variables (IV) approach, this study found that there was no significant effect of increasing private automobile dependence and transportation accessibility on the suburbanization process and changes in urban spatial structure. Further research with stronger data and approach is needed to better describe the relationship between automobile dependency, accessibility and urban spatial structure.Ada Tabel
