Dampak Polutan NO2 dan SO2 terhadap Penyakit Pernapasan
Air pollution erodes human capital via adverse health impacts. Using Riskesdas 2018 and district-level NO2 and SO2 data, this study applies Coefficient Stability Testing and Inverse Probability Weighting to estimate causal effects on ARI, pneumonia, and asthma by age. NO2 robustly increases ARI risk, especially among children, while SO2 affects ARIs and asthma in older adults. However, atypical results may reflect limitations in ground-based data—sparse, biannual passive samplers—and satellite-based data—low resolution and atmospheric distortion. Residual bias from unobserved confounders like health infrastructure, allergen exposure, and behaviour highlights the need for improved monitoring and granular, integrated health-pollution data systems.
