by Kiyoshi Kojima, Tokyo: Bunshindo, 1996.
Surugadai Economic Studies, Special Issue in Honor of Professor Kiyoshi Kojima, Hanno, Japan: Economics Faculty, Surugadai University, vol. 5, March 1996.
Kiyoshi Kojima is a Japanese economist of international fame. He specializes in international trade and development, especially in foreign direct investment in Asia. He is a forerunning advocate of Asia-Pacific economic integration. The book under review is a collection of his essays highlighting his lifetime contributions on the subjects which he selected himself to commemorate his 75th birthday. The journal issue under review is a Festschrift dedicated to him upon his formal retirement from his last employer. Before proceeding to these reviews, however, I have found it expedient to summarize Kojima's academic career and his academic contributions for those who are not familiar with Kojima's work.
