Text
The brochure outlines how ADB’s forthcoming enhanced Environmental and Social Framework and the Environment Action Plan 2024–2030 will support the shift beyond safeguards toward mainstreaming biodiversity and nature across sectors—including transport, energy, urban development, agriculture, and water resources—through loans, grants, technical assistance, and knowledge support. It presents case studies on ADB-financed projects and technical assistance, such as sponge cities, wildlife-friendly roads and railways, and nature-based infrastructure solutions, and emphasizes how nature-positive financing mechanisms, aligned with global biodiversity and climate goals, can help close the biodiversity financing gap.
