Hubungan pengungkapan sukarela perusahaan terhadap return saham pada periode seputar seasoned equity offering : pada perusahaan publik yang listing di Bursa Efek Jakrta diajukan oleh Rahma Wijayanti
This research examined corporate voluntary disclosure around seasoned equity offering and its relation to stock prices. Sample in this research is firms listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange that offer its stock through seasoned equity offering in year 2004-2006. Voluntary disclosures consist of Level of Voluntary Disclosures and Change in Voluntary Disclosures. Most of Voluntary disclosures around equity offering are intended to reduce asymmetric information. However, there is some indication that corporate did voluntary disclosure to make good image and get high return from investor. This intention is called hype the stock. To know the relation between voluntary disclosure and stock return, I examine corporate voluntary disclosure with return before equity offering announcement (pre-announcement return), announcement return, and post-announcement return. If corporate voluntary disclosure is intended to reduce asymmetric information, correlation between stock return and its change in voluntary disclosure is significant and positive. Correlation between all categories in change in voluntary disclosure and stock return (pre, announcement, announcement, and post announcement) is not significant. From this result, the intention of voluntary disclosure is to reduce asymmetric information is doubtful. To get better result, it is better if longer event windows are used to examine the relation between corporate voluntary disclosure and stock return in the next research.Ada tabel
