Account receivable is one of company?s major assets, especially for those that carry out their sales mainly on credit terms. For instance, YZ Indonesia, whose normal payment term for unit sale is 7 days. This report is intended to share the knowledge and experiences obtained during my internship program as an account receivable staff in YZ Indonesia for the period of three months. This report describes sources of company?s account receivables, sales transactions of vehicles, sales of other services, inter-company transactions, estimation of allowances for doubtful accounts, and the company?s efforts in collecting its receivables. In addition, this report also analyzes the application related to estimation and process for recording allowances for doubtful accounts, revenue recognition principle, matching principle in the transaction journals for the sales of vehicles, comparison of the ideal and actual A/R turnover ratio, as well as the analysis of account receivable management in the company.
