Analisa faktor pembentuk permintaan transportasi sepeda dengan pendepakatan structural equation model (SEM) : studi kasus komunitas bike to work

The increasing fascination towards environmental-friendly transportation, specifically bicycle is increasing by the growing information about the alarming level of green house gases. This study is aimed to reveal bicycle travel demand which is driven from the concerns of Jakarta?s citizen of their polluted city. The study is based on a primary data set collected from survey given to the members of Bike To Work community. The anxiety towards environment significantly affects the bicycle travel demand if the ?intention? of cycling is performed in a ?behavior? (cycling to work). In order to gain insight of this behavioral change, Structural Equation Model (SEM) framework is used to explain the causal relationship. This study suggests that public perception factors such as ?car as a status symbol? and ?belief that one can change environmental conditions? is stressed than the other motivational factors.
