Persaingan industri tepung terigu Indonesia : studi kasus 1990-2005

This study?s concern is to view the level of wheat flour industry competitiveness in Indonesia, mainly about the factors which affect it, especially the effect of the BULOG wheat flour import license revoked in 1998. The data used in this research is time-series data for the period 1990-2005. This research is using Ordinary Least Squares(OLS) econometric modelling approach to process the data and answer this research problem. The results shows that there is no effects of the deregulation to the level of competitiveness, which in this research is the market concentration of domestic producers inside the industry, due to the dominant behaviour and flexibility of domestic producers adjustment to the changes in the industry. The value of Gross Domestic Products is used for the proxy of market demand is the most significant variable in affecting the level of competitiveness in the industry. Therefore, the request of protection for the industry from domestic producers should be taken wisely by government because the protection is could cause the increase of their profit margin itself.Ada tabel
