Determinan ekspor manufaktur Indonesia : peran dari tarif, nilai tukar dan kelimpahan faktor
The focus of this research is the determinants of manufactured export from Indonesia to its five main trading partners -- United States, Japan, Malaysia, China and Germany, from 1996 to 2006. A gravity model was used in this research utilizing the pooled least square approach. The regression result shows three important points. First, Indonesia?s manufactured export to its main trading partners is influenced by GDP and distance. Manufactured export will increase with economic mass and fall with geographic distance between two countries. The result for GDP per capita indicates that Indonesia should export to countries with low to middle income level. Second, tariff and exchange rate also have an influence on Indonesia?s manufactured export. It shows that reduction in the import tariff for manufactured products (levied by the trading partners) and cheaper relative price can increase Indonesia?s manufactured export to its main trading partners. Third, the result for skill per labor implies the possibility that Indonesia tends to export unskilled labor-intensive products to its trading partners.Ada tabel
