This research aims to analyze factors influencing the firms? bank debt concentration, and also to get empirical evidence about screening and monitoring roles across small, medium, and large-sized firms. Samples in this research are non-financial firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the period 2004-2006. The results indicate that both the monitoring and screening roles of bank debt are important to avoid the asymmetric information problems.
