The research was conducted using 33 observations of listed Indonesian firms that paid dividend between the years 2004-2008 which provides additional evidences of the contracting theory argument on the relationship between growth opportunities and the dividend policy. The purpose of this research is to investigate the influences of profitability and the investment opportunity set to dividend policy. This research shows that profitability positively influences dividend policy and investment opportunity negatively affect firm?s dividend policy. In addition, the research shows that firm with lower levels of growth opportunities has higher dividends.Ada tabel
