Does labor factors and country competitiveness influencing country attractiveness? : a study in Indonesia and Jordan in Textile Industry

The purpose of this study is to critically compare labor factors and country competitiveness of Jordan and Indonesia that affecting its country attractiveness in the textile industry. This study will also discuss how Indonesia could improve its textile industry and become more productive than others. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The data were collected from the published materials, Better Work data, BAPPENAS data, and in depth ? interview with the certified social compliance auditors, factory managers, and some workers to earn more information on textile industry both in Indonesia and Jordan. The result of this study indicated that there are several labor factors that could boost up the Indonesian?s performance in Textile industry, such as working conditions which related to working time, occupational safety and health, compensation and benefits, and also discrimination.
