Analisis pengaruh penetrasi bank asing terhadap tingkat persainagn perbankan di Indonesia tahun 2007-2011

This study adopts a two-step approach aiming to analyze the impact of foreign bank penetration to banking competition level in Indonesia. In the first step, this study measures of banking competition level in Indonesia using the Panzar-Rosse measure of banking competition with cross-section regression. In the second step, the impact of foreign bank penetration to banking competition level resulted from prior step is estimasted using panel data regression with Generalized Least Square (GLS). The study also uses controls of banking concentration, bank-specific characteristic factor, financial environment factors and macroeconomic environment factors. The results show that Indonesia has monopolistic characteristic of its banking competition and found that foreign penetration has significant negative impact to banking competition level in Indonesia. All of the control factors have also significant impact to the level of banking competition in Indonesia.Ada tabel
