This study investigates the relationship between Intellectual Property Right (IPR) protection in foreign countries on Indonesia?s exports using gravity equation and panel data. The data that being used is Indonesia?s exports to ASEAN +6 countries such as Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, and New Zealand in 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2005. This study concludes that reinforced IPR protection in foreign countries has a positive effect on Indonesia?s exports especially on manufacturing sectors, indicating the dominance of market expansion effects. Besides that, it also found that the impacts of IPR protection in foreign countries depend on importer?s threat of imitation level, reinforced IPR protection in foreign countries that pose a strong threat of imitation increases Indonesia?s export to these countries which is caused by the dominance of the market expansion effects and reinforced IPR protection in foreign countries that pose a weak threat of imitation reduces Indonesia?s export to these countries which is caused by the dominance of the market power effects.Ada tabel
