During the year 2002-2008, international primary commodity price experienced a significant increase. This study will explain how the conventional pattern of transformation of the production and labor market structure have been influenced by the rising international price of primary commodity, using the panel data regression from 33 provinces in Indonesia. This study finds no evidence that increases in international primary commodity price has restricted the conventional pattern of transformation of both production and labor market structure, as explained by Chenery?s theory. This study also offers some explanations of why increases in international primary commodity price has not been significant in influencing neither the production structure, measured by contribution of sectoral production, nor the labor market structure, measured by sectoral labor proportion.Ada tabel
