Pengaruh struktur modal terhadap profitabilitas perusahaan manufaktur
This study seeks to analyze and provide empirical evidence for the effect of capital structure on firms profitability. The relationship between capital structure and profitability cannot be ignored because of the improvement in the profitability of the company is necessary for the long term survivability of firm. The Sample of this study used secondary data from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange (IDX) in 2009-2012. This study uses in exponential least squares regression to examine the relationship between capital structure and profitability of the company. In this study, capital structure measured by short-term debt total asset (SDA), long term debt to total assets (LDA), and total debt to total asset (TDA), while the ROE ratio term becomes a proxy to describe the level of profitability. In addition, the level of net sales and sales growth becomes a control variable in this study. The results showed a negative correlation between the levels of short-term debt and the profitability. That is, changes to short-term debt will not have a significant impact on the profitability. The study also concluded that the company's long-term debt has a significant role on the profitability. The short term debt regreesion coefficient indicates that there is a positive correlation between long-term debts with profitability. The larger the company's long-term debt, the greater the profitability obtained. Value of the regression coefficients and total debt probability indicates that if the amount of company's debt increase, the company's profitability will increase as well.
