Soe privatization in Indonesia : Impact towards firms profitability.leverage, and labor intensity (1988-2013)
For the last decades, privatization has been a worlwide phenomenom since its introduction from Britains Thacher government in the 1980s. In Indonesia. SOE privatization started in 1990s. trirered by the budget deficit and poor SOE performance at the time. To date, the policy has remain a contradiction having economists both supportive and skeptic to the effectifeness and mixed empirical evidence of implementations success in multiple econbomies. This research tries to analyze the impact of privatization toward Indonesia SOEs from 1988-2013. The Study showns that privatization does not always generate good improvement of financial and operating performance at least for the short-run observed (up to 3 years after privatization). The Research also show corelation of dominance of government shares, sequential timing of privatization, and the different methods of privatization and the different methods of privatization implemented..
