Analisis Pengaruh Investasi Piutang Usaha pada Profitabilitas Perusahaan Manufaktur Indonesia Periode 2001-2019

Eko Rizkianto, S.E., M.M. (Pembimbing/Promotor) - ; Farhan, A. Muhammad - ;

Using Indonesian manufacturing firms’ data for the period 2001-2019, this research analyzes the impact of trade credit investment on firm’s profitability and several factors that influence that relationship. Those factors are firm size, liquidity, and firm’s industry. This research uses fixed effects regression with time and firm fixed effects, and instrumental variable regression to handle endogeneity problem. This paper finds that trade credit and profitability has a nonlinear inverted-U relationship, which means trade credit has a positive impact when it is at low level, and a negative impact when it is at high level. There is no evidence that firm size and liquidity influence trade credit impact on profitability, however it is found that there is a significant variation between industries in the trade credit impact on profitability. Based on this research’s findings, managers can extend trade credit as a strategy to increase profitability as long as it does not exceed the optimum level and still considering the industry practice..Ada Tabel
