Analisis Perilaku Herding Pada Kondisi Sebelum dan Setelah COVID-19: Studi Kasus Saham Syariah di Lima Negara Dengan Pertumbuhan Keuangan Syariah Terbesar di Dunia Periode 2018-2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in economic condition and is leading it toward the verge of a crisis, which can be a catalyst for herding behavior among capital market participants. This study aims to see whether there is herding behavior and how the COVID-19 pandemic affects Islamic stocks in the five countries with the largest growth of Islamic finance (Malaysia, Indonesia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia) and to see the potential for herding behavior when the market is facing shocks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By using data on Islamic stocks and major indices from each country from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2020, the analysis of this study was conducted using the OLS time series method to detect herding behavior. The study finds that there is significant herding in Malaysia before the pandemic. Meanwhile, in other countries, no herding behavior is found. Further, when the market experiences shock due to the pandemic, herding behavior is shown by Islamic stocks in Indonesia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates..Ada Tabel
