Faktor yang Memengaruhi Penyimpangan Misi dalam Lembaga Keuangan Mikro
Reaching out to the poor and underdeveloped, as well as financially sustainable are the double bottom line objectives of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) which must be adhered to achieve sustainable financial inclusion. However, maintaining these two objectives is difficult due to high operational costs. The paper contributes to the literature arguing that found focussing on financial performance to achieve financially sustainable would lower the achievement of MFI’s social mission called mission drift. This study uses a dataset of 200 MFIs from 56 countries and runs a logistic regression. By calculating the mission drift ratio as the dependent variable, this study finds that funding sources, legal status, MFI size, interest rates, productivity, and regional (OIC countries) affect an MFI to move away from its social mission. Overall, this study agrees with the main hypothesis in mission drift stating that excessive profit motivation worsens social mission achievement. The implication of the research can be used by policy makers as a suggestion in developing Islamic MFIs as an alternative to realizing interest-free financial inclusion in poverty reduction effort. .Ada Tabel
