Analisis Penggunaan Asuransi Kesehatan Syariah pada Masyarakat Muslim Indonesia di Tengah Pandemi COVID-19: Pendekatan Theory of Planned Behavior dan Contingent Valuation Method

Sari, Putri Aulia - ; Tika Arundina S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Pembimbing/Promotor) - ;

The health crisis due to COVID-19 has raised public awareness of the importance of health. This has an impact on increasing the ownership of health insurance in Indonesia. However, the ownership of Islamic health insurance is smaller when compared to conventional health insurance. In fact, the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that influence the intention and determine the amount of premium that is willing to be paid. The conceptual framework used to see a person's intentions with the Theory of Planned Behavior Model and the estimation of the amount of premiums that are willing to be paid uses the Contingent Valuation Method. Data were collected from 388 respondents. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM and Double Bounded Dichotomous Choice methods. The results of the analysis show that attitudes. subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, awareness, and literacy have a significant effect on the intention to pay sharia health insurance premiums. In addition, subjective attitudes and norms significantly mediate the relationship between perceived knowledge of COVID-19 and religiosity and intention to pay. Perceived behavioral control also significantly mediates religiosity with intention to pay. However, the religiosity variable has no significant effect on the intention to pay. Furthermore, the magnitude of the estimate obtained shows that the average premium that is willing to be paid is below the average price of the premium offered. The research results are expected to be a recommendation for Islamic insurance companies in carrying out appropriate marketing and pricing strategies..Ada Tabel
