Pengaruh Infrastruktur Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) Terhadap Konvergensi Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Indonesia: Analisis Data Panel
The development of the digital sector should be accompanied by an adequate ICT infrastructure to provide inclusive access for the community. However, ICT infrastructure is very sensitive to divergences growth that can widen the inequality gap in Indonesia. Using panel data in 34 Indonesian provinces during 2011-2019, this study aims to determine the pattern of economic growth in Indonesia by considering the factors of ICT infrastructure through beta convergence analysis. ICT infrastructure indicators will be reviewed through the availability of BTS infrastructure and the value of the ICT access and infrastructure sub-index which includes five other components, namely internet infrastructure, cellular telephones, fixed telephones, bandwidth, and computers. Using fixed effect model the result shows that Indonesia’s economy has converges, both absolute and conditional convergence. Nevertheless, the existence of ICT infrastructure has not been fully optimized. It is known that only BTS infrastructure which able to increase the regional economic growth. Meanwhile, ICT access and infrastructure sub-index which represents several other digital infrastructures, only increase the economic growth of high-income provinces. It is due to the phenomenon where low-income provinces do not have an adequate ecosystem to improve the ICT infrastructure existence, hence it is not used for productive purposes. Lastly, it is known that the conditional convergence model produces a convergence rate of 13 percent when employment, electricity, first-nature, and second-nature conditions are included in the model..Ada Tabel
