Pengaruh Bantuan Tunai terhadap Pengeluaran Makanan: Pembuktian Hukum Engel dengan Data IFLS 2014
The purpose of this study is to prove Engel's law based on the status of receiving cash assistance on food expenditures and to determine the income elasticity for food demand. The data used are 2014 IFLS data. In proving Engel's law, we use the median of each of the 8 expenditure groups in the categories of recipients of BLSM, recipients of PKH, and not receiving cash tranfer program. To determine income elasticity, we use the Working-Leser model on 13 food commodities availaible in 2014 data. Engel's law is proven in the non-recipients of BLSM and PKH. However, there are differences in the pattern of income groups for the bottom 25% of BLSM and PKH recipients. There are 7 types of food based on poor and non-poor categories according to Engel's law. Meanwhile, for the category of cities and villages, 11 types of food out of 13 types of food studied followed Engel's law. In addition, there are several important findings including, finding the mistargeting of cash transfers based on IFLS 2014 data, the classification of necessities and luxury goods, and a decreased elasticity in the higher expenditure group for the alcohol and tobacco variables..Ada Tabel
