Pengaruh Pendidikan terhadap Transisi ke Perkawinan Pertama di Indonesia

Diahhadi Setyonaluri, Ph.D. (Pembimbing/Promotor) - ; Nafisha, Naura - ;

Trend in the average age of first marriage in Indonesia had been increasing from 1980 to 2000. However, it was found that the singulate mean age at marriage (SMAM) in Indonesia was declining from 2000 to 2010. The decline in SMAM was observed across all genders and educational levels. Previous research has found that increasing the level of education increases the age of first marriage in Indonesia. Using IFLS data from 2000, 2007, and 2014, this research aims to examine the relationship between years of schooling and age of first marriage. Furthermore, based on prior information, the study seeks to assess whether there is a difference in the rate of age marriage in the age group 15 to 24 years old in birth cohort 1976 to 1983 and birth cohort 1984 to 1992. This study employs the Cox Proportional Hazard technique for analyzing survival. The results suggest that increasing one year of schooling reduces the hazard of getting married and increases the age of first marriage in all sample and both genders. Nevertheless, this study found no difference in the speed of marriage between these two birth cohorts..Ada Tabel
