Pengaruh Kepemilikan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional terhadap Pengeluaran Kesehatan untuk Pengobatan Tradisional di Indonesia
Traditional medicine has become more widespread in a number of countries. A country's traditional health services are inextricably linked to its culture, understanding, and accessibility to conventional medicine. Traditional medicine is also covered by insurance systems in Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan. The National Health Insurance (JKN) is defined as a guarantee in the form of health protection in which participants get health care benefits and protection in meeting fundamental health needs, which are provided to everyone who has paid dues or whose contributions are paid by the government. JKN does not guarantee complementary, alternative, or traditional medicine that has not been proven effective through health technology assessments. As a result, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of National Health Insurance (JKN) membership on household health expenditures for traditional treatment. The March 2020 Susenas data is used, and the OLS and Tobit estimate methods are employed to determine the impact of JKN. According to the findings of this study, households with JKN have lower health-care costs for traditional medicine than those without JKN. With compared to the average household's spending on traditional medicine, the decrease in expense that occurs when having insurance is rather small. It shows that JKN membership is not enough to change people's preferences and beliefs towards traditional medicine.
