Analisis Korelasi Cryptocurrency Islami Dan Konvensional Berbasis Emas Terhadap Return Emas Dalam Menghadapi Risiko Geopolitik
This study aims to analyze the correlation between Islamic and conventional gold-based cryptocurrencies on gold return movements in facing geopolitical risk. This study uses data series of Hello Gold, X8X Token, and OneGram Coin as variables for gold-based Islamic cryptocurrencies. As for the conventional gold-based crypto currency variables, data series from Tether Gold, Paxos Gold, Digix Coin, and GoldCoin are used. The number of observations in this study was 4,698 with 522 observations of gold return, 522 of Geopolitical Risk Index data and 3,694 observations of gold-based cryptocurrencies during the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022. This research method uses GJR-GARCH with Dynamic Conditional Correlation (DCC) and followed by the standard GARCH method. The results show that gold-based Islamic cryptocurrencies have a positive correlation to gold return movements, while the gold return correlation with gold-based conventional cryptocurrencies shows the opposite result. This study also finds that geopolitical risk weakens the correlation between gold and gold-based Islamic cryptocurrencies, but on the other hand strengthens the negative correlation between gold and conventional gold-based cryptocurrencies..Ada Tabel
