Chopra and Meindl present an excellent book for people interested in operations management in general and supply chain management in particular.
The authors write in a very capturing way and present all key OM topics (inventory management, forecasting, logistics, financial considerations in SCM...) in the supply-chain context. They clearly explain all key topics of OM/SCM and provide numerous and well structured examples in each chapter. These examples also include Excel formulations that enable the reader to understand the finer points (such as safety stock under demand and supply uncertainty).
Each chapter contains up-to-date references that range from textbooks to management and academic journals.
The editors have done an outstanding job in presenting the information in a very structured and succinct way.
I highly recommend this textbook to students and practitioners in operations management.
