Responsibilities of a good reviewer: lessons learned from kindergarten
It goes without saying that a good reviewer has a responsibility to the discipline. Less obvious, however, is the responsibility of the reviewer to the authors. Simple ideas learned from kindergarten provide some very basic guidelines about how to be more responsible to authors, avoiding demoralization without sacrificing rigor: 1. Play fair. 2. Watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. 3. Do not hit people. 4. Share everything. 5. Look before leaping. 6. Come in when the bell rings. 7.
