Of Arts, leadership, management education, and management research: a commentary on Nancy Adler's "The Arts & leadership: now that we can do anything, what will we do?"
Nancy Adler's piece on the cross-fertilization between the arts and leadership is both timely and much anticipated. Timely because, as Adler pointed out, a growing number of organizations, including business corporations, NGOs, and business schools have recognized the need to turn to the artistic community for inspiration to help them wade through the challenges and opportunities posed by growing complexities in the 21st century. Adler's piece is much anticipated because a paper in a scholarly publication, such as AMLE, that highlights the need to understand the interrelationship between leadership and the arts is long overdue. This article offers reflections on many of the issues raised in Adler's article.Printed Journal
