Analisis ekonometrik pasar gula Indonesia memasuki era liberalisasi perdagangan gula

This study the prevailing Indonesia sugar market and its prospects in facing with trade liberalization implementation. The findings show that Indonesia sugar production is increasingly dependent on dry-land productions of sugarcane, characterizing with low productivity due to inadequate technolocy, and accompanied with inefficient marketing system of sugar. Facing with the tendency of increasing demand for sugar as income and population increase, and the peospects of trade liberalization implementation this study argues the pressing need to increase national sugar competitivenes throught increasing efficiency and productivity in the production as well as the marketing sides. In the production side, primary attention must be given to improvement of dry-land sugarcane technology and expansion of sugarcane plantation out of Java, and in the marketing side, primary attention is to restructure the prevailing marketing system in order to lowet marketing cost deemed necessary and to eliminate unnecssary costs ( economics rents ) incured throught delimiting government ( Bulog ) intervention and promoting private sector involvement..Baca di tempat
