Java furniture makers : Globalisation winners or losers?

Globalization is one of the most intensive sujects to be debated during the last decade, both in the developing countries and developed countries. The major question is who are the winners and the losers from the globalization. As a case study, this article attempt to investigate whether furniture makers in Central Java are winners or losers from globalization. More specifically, it addresses two questions : Fisrt, have enterprises and workers gained from producing for the global economy? Second, are these gains sustainable?
