This paper examines the customers' role during the process of formulation and implementation of business strategy of a company. The research was conducted in the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia using case study in four ethical strategic business units in four sompanies i.e. Kalbe, Indofarma, Merck, and Otto. The study which focuses on business strategies of some pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia has its merit, due to the fact that case study of the same sort is very rare..Printed journal
