Dialogue
In a recent Editor's Comments, Roy Suddaby called for a continuing conversation on constructs in management theories and discussion on techniques for improving their clarity. This dialogue is an attempt to take up this challenge. Within the page limits set, I will briefly introduce an approach that has the potential to deal with most of the problems presented by Suddaby. In fact, this is not a new approach, but in the fifty years since it was first used, it has not attracted sufficient scholarly attention to become part of the mainstream route of the theory development process..Printed journal
