In a recent Editor's Comments, Roy Suddaby called for a continuing conversation on constructs in management theories and discussion on techniques for improving their clarity. This dialogue is an attempt to take up this challenge. Within the page limits set, I will briefly introduce an approach that has the potential to deal with most of the problems presented by Suddaby.
