Analisis Dampak Teknologi, Informasi, Dan Komunikasi (TIK) Dalam Pembangunan Berkelanjutan: Kasus Asean

Today's massive economic development has had a significant impact on environmental quality. ICT as the core of digitalization and the digital economy can improve environmental quality and has a crucial role in supporting the progress of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study aims to analyze the impact of ICT development proxied by internet penetration on sustainable development index directly and through the chain of transmission via trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The investigation encompasses 10 ASEAN countries from 2006 to 2021. I employ the fixed effect panel regression model used as the baseline regression and the Instrument Variable-GMM model to accommodate the potential of endogeneity problems especially on ICT data. The results indicate that ICT with a 1-year lag has a significant and positive effect on sustainable development index. The study also observes indirect effect through FDI and trade.
