Studi Perbandingan Ekonomi Sumatera Barat Sebelum dan Selama Pandemi Covid-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in humans having to limit their activities in public spaces. This study aims to analyze changes in the economic landscape, and the efficiency and structure of production before and during the pandemic. This study uses the 2016 IO table and is updated with the RAS method for 2021, with the addition of a product matrix multiplier analysis. Overall, there has been little change in the economic landscape in West Sumatra. The manufacturing sector has underperformed in many indicators while the agriculture, plantation and fishery sectors still dominate. West Sumatra's economy got stronger in the agricultural sector and certain services. Existing changes due to pandemic failed to show evidence of successful industrialization process, instead strengthening in sectors that benefited from the Covid-19 pandemic, such as the information and communication sector.
