Usulan Pengembangan Sistem Informasi Manajemen Persediaan (Studi Kasus PT P)
The purpose of this research is to develop inventory information system in Trading Company. Inventory is one of the important factors in business activities and availability is inevitable. With the availability, the company can meet customer demand in a timely manner. Proper control of the inventory system will make it easier for the company to carry out operational activities and maintain the smooth operation cycle of the company. This research uses Framework for the Application of System Thinking (FAST) and Performance, Information, Economics, Control, Efficiency, and Services (PIECES) methods. The provision of data information, especially between branches and head offices and warehouses, cannot be done quickly, precisely (real-time) and efficiently because the product writing system and product data entry are still done manually to the system. This condition has an impact on poor decision making, and a relatively high number of employees. The result of analysis and design of Inventory Management Information System is that PT P can integrate inventory reporting activities located in the procurement division, distribution division and finance &budget division with all branches by using the design of a new database-based system so that inventory management between branches is updated with each other. In addition, it is expected that the new design can be known the necessary data on inventory purchases, inventory transfer, supplier data, inventory expiration, storage date, inventory availability, eligibility conditions, up to the delivery date and delivery destination which will all be stored in the inventory parent database, with good database management will be obtained the desired report results. then because this system has been integrated, the data required by the head office does not need to be manually re-entered again as done by the branch office so far.
