Deskripsi
This study aims to compare the impact of noncash food assistance (BPNT) and the Sembako programme on the beneficiaries’ nutrition outcomes. Using the 2017-2021 SUSENAS cross-section data, we perform pseudorandomization with propensity score matching (PSM) with contemporaneous control and ordinary least square (OLS) estimation with a multi-arm approach. The Sembako programme has a significant impact on increasing nutrition outcomes compared to BPNT. The increase in the nutrition outcomes of the Sembako programme beneficiaries at the national level is generally driven by Java Island, Sumatra Island, and urban areas. This research shows that increasing the flexibility of food vouchers, with the same benefit value cannot yield the same impact across regions.
