Indonesia has been stagnating growth at the middle-income level for 15 years. To avoid the middle-income trap Indonesia is required to change the growth base towards productivity where knowledge becomes very important. The study sought to analyze the effect of cognitive ability on decisions of participating in higher education. With the binomial logit model using IFLS data, there was a positive relationship between cognitive ability and participation decisions to higher education.Ada Tabel
