The implementation of Renewable Energy Directive (RED) Policy by the European Union is aim to reduce carbon emissions globally. However, the policy raises speculations accompanies it. This policy is seen as a commitment to protect an increasingly threatened environment. However, on the other hand, the European Union's move is seen as a new form of protectionism for biodiesel, which is the main commodity of the European Union. In Islamic view, protectionism is not justified because it will give benefits to only one party. This study aims to analyze the effect of Renewable Energy Directive (RED) policy that has been imposed by the European Union on the export of Indonesian palm oil in the European Union market. Whereas Indonesia is the country that dominates the trade of palm oil in the world (Oil World, 2019). This research method uses secondary data with panel data processing, random effect. The selection of the 9 EU countries are based on the highest palm oil importing countries and supported by available data. This study has dependent variable, namely the export of Indonesian palm oil and the independent variable, namely GDP PPP, the European Union's Population Ratio to Indonesia, the distance between countries, exchange rate, palm oil price, RED dummy variable and Ispo as dummy variable. In this study, it was found that the RED policy had a significant and positive impact on Indonesia's palm oil exports. The impact of the RED policy can be seen from the visualization of data from each European Union country.Ada Tabel
