This study discusses the trade off phenomena between children quantity and quality, especially who came from poor household. This study uses IFLS3 and IFLS5 data to uncover the long-term effects of the existance of other children in a household to future outcomes of a child. 4.026 children aged 7-18 who came from poor household in 2000 are selected to be the sample of this study. Using linear model, which estimated using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, we found that each additional child in the household causes a negatively significant effect to children?s future outcome. The regression coefficients indicate that each additional child in a household will shorten years of schooling by 0.327 years, lower BMI Z-score by 0.0486 point, and decrease per capita expenditure of child?s future household by around 3-6%. The overall effects found in this study, generally bigger in scale than what other children face in previous studies? findings.Ada Tabel
