Analisis Daya Saing Industri Nikel beserta Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Dalam Rangka Menghadapi Pertumbuhan Produksi Battery Electric Vehicles

Advances in technology have accelerated the development of various aspects of human life, one of which is technology in vehicles industry. Technological developments in the automotive industry have created electric car vehicles that have increased sales. EV sales, which are dominated by Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) are predicted to dominate 81% of total EV sales in 2030. This increase in electric car production will drive demand for an important component of EV batteries, which is Nickel. Indonesia as the country with the largest reserves in the world has the opportunity to become a leader in the international nickel trade market, but in fact Indonesia's nickel export performance has not been as expected. This research tries to study the competitiveness of the Nickel industry which is described by the RCA index and factors to find out the best policy to encourage the performance of Nickel exports. Using panel data estimates from 9 main Nickel producing countries in the world, the total production and R&D variables of competitiveness were found to have a positive effect on the export performance of Nickel in these countries, the Nickel price variable had a negative effect, while the FDI variable was found to have no significant effect on the performance of Nickel exports.Ada Tabel
