Global and national energy consumption continue to increase every year which cause an increase in carbon emissions. Households are one of the largest energy consuming sectors in Indonesia, where the education of household members affects energy consumption. This study is a quantitative study under the STIRPAT framework using 5 econometric methods which aims to see the influence of education towards energy consumption between provinces in Indonesia in 2010-2018. The research was conducted in 3 different regions, namely Indonesia as a whole, Java, and non-Java. This study concludes that education has a significant negative effect on energy consumption in Indonesia as a whole and Java. The effect of education on energy consumption in non-Java areas is also negative but not significant. The resulting policy implication is for the government to continue to make efforts on improving the quality of education and giving education on efficient energy consumption in Indonesia and Java. For non-Java areas, government could make complementary policies such as compulsory education programs as an effort to reduce energy consumption.Ada Tabel
