Disaster Mitigation for Tourism Brand Recovery in Indonesia - After Coronavirus Case
Tourism industry in Indonesia, particularly in Bali and Lombok Tourism, show their fragile characteristics in dealing with disaster after disruption. Thus, disaster mitigation efforts are needed in restoring image of tourism destinations after corona virus disaster ends. In addition, it is necessary to consider forms of disaster mitigation strategies prepared for tourism industry, especially when similar disasters occur in Indonesia in the future. Based on observations and findings obtained in research process, a conclusion of disaster mitigation needs to be obtained. In the context of disaster recovery, four phases of recovery are needed, including disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness and simulation, responsive actions and priority plans during disaster, and recovery of destination images and infrastructure renovation. Four steps to recover are carried out continuously. Each step can be done in parallel and uninterrupted. To support four stepsof restoring destination's image, active roles from various tourism stakeholders are needed. This active role is also followed by tourism branding recover involves four dimensions, namely consumer relationship, media relationship, brand infrastructure relationship, and primary service relationship.
