Deskripsi
The World Bank report shows that there are gaps and a decline in the quality of infrastructure development in Muslim countries. This raises questions regarding the optimization of infrastructure development financing, especially the Public Private Partnership (PPP) financing model. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the determinants of PPP implementation in infrastructure development projects in 57 Muslim countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This research uses panel data method with fixed effect model estimation model and uses robustness model with random-poisson regression method. The variables used include GDP per capita, population, inflation, grants or aid, foreign debt, foreign exchange reserves, political stability index, regulatory quality index, and Islamity Index. Islamicity index is a new variable added by this study, which is a proxy for cultural factors owned by OIC countries. The results show that inflation variables, political stability index, regulatory quality index, and Islamity index have a positive effect on PPP implementation in OIC countries. However, grants actually hinder the implementation of PPP. These results emphasize the importance of maintaining macroeconomic, regulatory, and political stability in strengthening PPP implementation in the OIC Region. The results of this study also emphasize the important role of cooperation among OIC countries, because their shared identity (ie, Islamic values) is significant in improving PPP implementation in the OIC Region. Overall, the results of this study are expected to provide input for policy makers and the private sector involved in PPP implementation in OIC countries.Ada Tabel
