Implementation of Sustainable Tourism Initiatives: A Case Study at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Nusa Dua

This study seeks to examine the implementation of sustainable tourism through the supporting programmes undertaken by The Apurva Kempinski Bali, a distinguished five-star a hotel located in Nusa Dua region of Bali. Employing a qualitative research methodology, data for this study were collected through interviews, internet-sourced articles, observations, and document analysis. At present, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is actively engaged in a sustainability initiative known as the Path to Sustainability Growth, which necessitates collaboration, commitment, and and support from various stakeholders, including partners, employees, and guests. This initiative is overseen by the hotel's Sustainability Departement and encompasses a range of practical implementations, such as hydroponic farming, No Bin Day, a seaweed-based beverage creation competition, and waste segregation, among others. Furthermore, sustainability training is provided for employees, fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and integrating sustainable tourism practices into daily operations. Ths research aspires to inspire a wider audience by highlighting the positive contributions of this sustainable tourism initiative, particularly in alignment with the four sustainability pillars.
